Change of Seasons

 Carly, Day 101, April 11, 2026

Carly noticed the days getting colder and shorter. Snow was beginning to fall by the time she started her new job. It wasn't just the seasons that were changing, everyone was changing. Two of her friends married already. She was so happy for them, not just for the marriage part, but for their certainty in knowing they had found their forever person. How did they know that was the person for them? 

Carly often struggled with whether she would ever allow her heart to truly open up to another person to know that kind of love. She believed that too much hurt, betrayal and loss resided there to ever make room for true love. She knew she didn't love Paolo, but she was glad they got to spend time together, no strings, no regrets. 

As much as Carly hates winter, she did notice the beauty in the Britechster sky in winter. 


 And she started her new job wearing her old hair. 

And she had another first. After her first day of work, she asked Akira out on a date. they met at the karaoke bar in Newcrest.

Carly thinking: There's Cebolla! If this doesn't go well, I can hang with Cebolla.

They had some laughs and drinks at the bar.
And a little flirting.

They watched Cebolla sing.

And Carly and Akira sang a duet.
They do sound great together. (short video below if it works)

Watcher: Carly, you didn't even kiss him yet. 
Carly: I can fix that.


And the date ended, but Akira did hang out with Carly and Cebolla, and eventually Honey. And an unwelcome intruder at their table. 

Carly: I know you are not robbing our neighborhood anymore, but we still don't want to be friends with you after what you did in Copperdale! 

And Carly gave Akira a good night hug. 
Carly: I had fun tonight. 
Akira: Me too.

Start of a New Term

 Carly, Day 96, April 6, 2026 One thing that makes University so hard is not getting your new classes until about 6PM and then you may have 3 classes to do homework for. Luckily, Carly only had 2 Thursday classes to prepare for. She was hard at work (mostly hard at work) studying when someone happened to be walking by her house and couldn't resist stopping in to see her.  Watcher: You just have to get through two class homeworks tonight.  Carly: I know. Watcher: You do not look like you are reading about writing children's books. Carly: I am still reading the book.  That's about the time Paolo showed up. That little want she has in the corner is to woohoo with Paolo.  Watcher: Carly, you still have to finish one more homework. Carly: Watcher says I have to do this one homework before we whatever. Tattoo Shop Opening

 Carly, Day 61, March 2, 2026 When Carly got home from the restaurant, she was feeling very independent and happy for their lives in Nordhaven. She told Em all about the shop opening the next day. Carly: Now Em, you will be the shop's official greeter while I tend the tattoo table. Everyone will love you, you are so cute. Em: Woof!  The next day, Carly officially opened the shop. Carly tending the table. And she spotted a familiar face. Carly: Pants off Paolo. You are getting a leg tattoo. Carly is very serious about her work. And she got her first good review from Paolo. Carly thinking she may need to get a closer look at that someday to make sure she didn't make any mistakes. Matteo was her next customer. Carly: I know you are getting an arm tattoo. Trust me, it will end up on your arm.
